  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training

    Level 3 Award in Education and Training

    Who it's aimed at This qualification is designed to provide candidates with an introduction to teaching/training in the further education and skills sector. It is a knowledge-based teaching qualification which has no minimum teaching practice requirement, and therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching or training role. Entry Requirements Relevant experience applicable to this qualification. The candidate must be aged 16 years old or over. Unit options Mandatory units include: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in educationand training Understanding assessment in education and training Practical assessment There is 1 practical assessment for this qualification and you must be involved in at least 1 hour of microteaching. You must deliver a 15 minute microteaching session observed and assessed by a member of the delivery team throughout the course, with the results of each learning outcome recorded and auditable. During the other 45 minutes, you can either deliver additional microteaching sessions or observe the microteaching sessions of other candidates.Verifiable evidence must be submitted to show this took place.     Who it's aimed at This qualification intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example, a workshop, classroom or other training environment). Entry Requirements Relevant experience applicable to this qualification. The candidate must be aged 16 years old or over.     Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

    Who it's aimed at This is a Level 4 qualification, and is for those who carry out internally quality assurance of Assessors and assessments. The qualification requirements include planning of Internal Quality Assurance, sampling assessment decisions, monitoring, supporting and providing feedback to Assessors and ensuring information is recorded and stored in accordance with legislation.  In addition there is a requirement to ensure standardisation and to maintain and improve Assessor and Centre performance. An understanding of assessment methods and how to evaluate them is also required. The ability to communicate clearly to those involved in Quality Assurance, including External Verifiers and Awarding Organisations is essential. Entry Requirements To complete this qualification it will be necessary to have a minimum of 2 Assessors who have 2 candidates each to work with, and these candidates must be working in an industry you have occupational knowledge of. Relevant experience applicable to this qualification. E.g. Assessor qualification The candidate must be aged 16 years old or over. Already have a qualification?

If you have completed an NVQ or another recognised qualification in the last 3 years, that is linked to the qualification you want to complete, then you may be able to use this to reduce the amount of work required.

This is called 'Recognised Prior Learning' (RPL).

We’ll review your existing qualifications, to identify what can be used towards the qualification you are interested in completing. Through a detailed gap analysis, we highlight what you’ve already achieved and what is left to be completed to cover the qualification criteria, ensuring you don’t repeat work you’ve already completed.

If necessary, we will liaise directly with the awarding body to confirm if this can be accepted, giving you a clear, efficient,
and streamlined route to achieving the qualification, and if applicable, the CSCS Card you need.
